If you’re filing bankruptcy in the Eastern District of Wisconsin, you will have to provide the court with a list of all of your creditors and their addresses through a portal on the court’s website. Your creditors are all businesses, banks, and individuals you owe money to. The creditor matrix is the list of names and addresses for each and every creditor you have. It is used by the court to mail notices to your creditors about your case. Upsolve will prepare this list for you based on your credit report and the information you provide in our questionnaire.
Tip: If you want to see your creditor’s matrix, a copy is included at the very end of your forms packet.
Before submitting your bankruptcy forms to the court, you’ll have to submit the names and addresses on your creditor matrix through the court’s website. If you’re mailing your forms to the court, make sure you do this on the day you’re mailing everything out. If you’re dropping your forms off in person, submit the information through the court’s website before going to court.
The court portal is here: File Your Creditor Matrix
The first thing you will see when accessing the portal is this:
Once you add the required information under “Create New Matrix” click “continue.”
Next you will see a pop up telling you what your pin is:
Make sure you write down your pin number in case you need to add or update information later.
Once you’re in, use the creditor matrix included in your filing packet to add all of your creditors. You’ll only need their name and mailing address.
Depending on how many creditors you have, this may take a while, but that’s ok. You don’t have to do it all at once; you can come back later to finish up. Take your time and be thorough so you don’t miss anyone.
The next screen you see (after hitting “save creditor matrix”) will give you the option to print your matrix, save your matrix, or send the matrix to the court. Once all of your creditors and their addresses have been added and your creditor matrix saved, you can submit it to the court. Note, you’ll have to check the box confirming that you’ve added all of your creditors before submitting your information:
Filing the rest of your bankruptcy forms
After you’ve added all the creditors from your creditor matrix via the court’s portal, you’re ready to file the rest of your bankruptcy forms. Once the clerk’s office receives you forms, they’ll automatically update your case information with the creditor matrix you previously uploaded.
