It depends if you were required to file tax returns in the last two year or not.
- If you were required to file returns and you don't have a copy, you can access a free tax transcript from the IRS website. Download the transcript from the IRS site, and upload it to your my.upsolve.org account.
- If you weren't required to file tax returns, just make sure to tell us that when asked in the questionnaire on your my.upsolve.org account and again when you get to the step for uploading tax returns.
- If you aren't sure if you were required to file a return or not, you can take this online quiz from the IRS to find out.
If you were required to file a tax return and you didn't, you'll need to file your returns (for the last two years) before you can file your Chapter 7 case with Upsolve. The bankruptcy trustee overseeing your case will look at your past two years of returns.
