Can I request a tax transcript from the IRS?

If possible, we recommend you get your tax forms from the company or person who helped you file your taxes. Many debtors use H&R Block or TurboTax and are able to log into their accounts to directly get the transcripts. 

If you can't get find your past tax forms, you can also request a free tax transcript from the IRS website. You will need to create or sign in to your IRS online account to get the transcripts.The IRS has several download options, which can be confusing. The one you need will say FORM 1040 TAX RETURN TRANSCRIPT at the top. If you try to upload the incorrect document in your Upsolve account, it may be rejected.
